Super fast broadband without the fibre cable prices
#1
If you're lucky enough to live in a 5G data network area then ditch the fibre cable router and get yourself a 5G router instead.
Please do not confuse your home 5GHz WiFi with this 5G data internet, they are completely different entities.
Home WiFi runs on either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz frequencies, similar to the frequencies emitted by microwaves and other home devices.
With the roll out of the new 5G Data network this is only a name like 2G/3G and 4G and is nothing to do with the frequencies used.
There is a lot of misinformation about and companies like BT, Virgin and EE are not helping with adverts stating super-fast Wifi on 5G
With this in mind be aware retailers are also using incorrect or misleading 5G statements when they are merely referring to the WiFi frequency.

Three have started rolling out 5G routers that are plug and go, they use a mobile 5G SIM card which means you are connected within minutes.
No onsite engineer, which means no installation fees!
No cables or connection charges. It is completely portable, so it goes where ever you go.
Cable free, which means when you move, it moves with you, no reconnection charges.

Three have 5G routers on a 12 or an optional 24 month contract, but is still cheaper than the hard wired fibre cable alternatives.
The best part is you can choose to go it alone without being tied to a 12 month contract.
Let's face the retail price index reality, contracts will go up every April, even mid contract, so in a few years you could be paying double again.
So how do you cut the internet prices even further and cut out the retail price index rises altogether?

Simply buy yourself a 5G data router (yes they are a little pricey, at the moment)
Double check the product descriptions making sure you do actually get a 5G router and not a 5Ghz WiFi router.
However they pay for themselves in just under 12 months.
You then buy yourself a pay as you go SIM card from Smarty - unlimited data plans start at £18 a month

Cut your broadband costs in half literally over night.

See for yourself in the below screen capture, even the ping/latency is adequate for gaming!

You will not get those speeds on Virgin or even BT's fibre network.
5G it's the future, cable is history!

See Forum Announcements for Smarty Sim deals.

NEW speed test without any tweaks

This is using a standard network RJ45 cable straight from the router, no fancy WiFi geeky mods!
I did have some issues earlier on as the Mac Mini software updated decided to change my ethernet network settings to AUTO.
Which was only allowing an 80Mbps throughput, it wasn't until it was configuring to manual settings that it all started working as it should again.
