That annoying phrase this device is READY!
#1
THIS DEVICE IS NOT READY!
The biggest difference between devices that are WiFi ready and those that have WiFi built-in is the presence of the actual WiFi hardware.
A pointless phrase that merely only reenforces the fact manufactures are up-selling products for capital gains.

Altho WiFi ready means that the device is able to use WiFi but all it has is a slot where the WiFi card goes.
If you truly want WiFi functionality, you need to purchase a separate WiFi card.
On the other hand WiFi built-in means just that, the hardware needed is already built into the device.

The same can be said for those devices that are HD-ready, 4K-ready, Internet-ready, or anything ready... do not confuse with 'ever ready'
These devices do not have the actual hardware to be completely capable or even performing the function.
They only have the software capability, which is pretty useless without the hardware.
Yet some Televisions have that added capability of being able to upscale to HD or 4K, the phrase HD-ready and 4K-ready actually has some merit.
However not all channels broadcast in those mediums, so potential it is a wasted technology, alternatively not everyone can afford the SKY HD package?

Just like the wide screen and 3D televisions, these were heavily promoted as being the next big thing and again pointless hype for the mass FOMO market.
The fear of missing out, but the actual broadcasting technology never arrived.
